Harvest Cellar Hand- Gibbston Valley- Queenstown, New Zealand.

About this role:
Gibbston Valley Wines is a small organic producer in Central Otago. We have 8 diverse vineyards across three sub-regions.

We are currently seeking experienced Cellar Hands for the 2025 Harvest. It is a position for 2 to 3 months, 5-6 days a week and up to 12 hours a day during the peak times of harvest. Hourly rate is $29.66 and we are seeking applications only from candidates who are legally able to work in New Zealand (Citizen, Resident or work visa)

Vintage Cellar Hand/ Lab Technician- Booster Wine Group, Marlborough and Hawkes bay- Queenstown, New Zealand.

About this role:
Booster Wine Group is a collection of NZ wineries & brands, including Awatere River Wine Company, Waimea Estates, Gravity Winery, Bannock Brae and Sileni Wines. We are now recruiting for multiple dynamic, reliable team players to join us as Vintage Cellar Hands and Vintage Lab Technicians for the 2025 harvest at both our Marlborough and Hawkes Bay based wineries.

Vintage Cellar Hand responsibilities & tasks:

  • Grape receival, processing and pressing.

  • Flotation & filtration

  • Racking & transfers

  • Additions & Inoculations

  • Red wine management

  • Barrel management

  • General cellar & Equipment hygiene

  • Previous experience in Forklift, RDV, Dieme Presses, batch & continuous flotation and Omnia High Solids Crossflow is an advantage but not essential.

Vintage Lab tech responsibilities & tasks:

  • Assisting Lab manager during the vintage period

  • Maturity sampling

  • Conducting daily ferment rounds and collection of samples

  • Collaborating closely with the lab manager, cellar hands and winemakers to ensure precise and reliable analysis is obtained.

  • Experience with equipment such as Foss/Winescan, Aspiration Sulphurs, Auto titrator, DMA (Density meter), Vintrace software and Excel spreadsheets is an advantage but not essential.

Our ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 vintages experience.

  • A passion for making wine.

  • A great sense of humor and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Vintage Cellar Hand- Mt Beautiful, Canterbury- New Zealand.

Vintage Cellar Hands

Mt. Beautiful based in Cheviot, North Canterbury, is looking to process 600T of estate grown fruit this year. We make Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Gris.

We will have a multi-national team of 10 people working in the cellar and laboratory. As a premium focused small winery, you will have the opportunity to experience all facets of the vintage from fruit in-take and sampling, through to vinification both red and white wines along with barrel management.

We are looking for both cellar hands and a laboratory technician that are energetic, self-motivated, hard-working, practical people who can put their hands to anything.

  • Previous experience in a winery an advantage

  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand

  • You need to be practical, fit and prepared to work long hours

  • Forklift driving skills/license are very desirable

  • We are looking for one person to run the Laboratory, so laboratory experience and skills will be essential for this role

  • Must be a good team player and be prepared to share experience and ideas

  • Having your own vehicle is an advantage
